Angel in the sky comforting a grieving man with Angel's Trumpet Flowers

Angel’s Trumpet Flower Essence is for moving into a Holy Trust kind of state instead of an “OMFG!” one by surrendering to a Higher Power at points of major transition. It’s for BIG events (both negatively or positively anticipated) or transformation points such as nearing death, marriage, a big move, or change of life (graduation, career move, divorce, or catastrophic incident). It’s for when you can’t and shouldn’t control every aspect of what happens but fear the consequences if you don’t or can’t. Angel Trumpet helps a person in this kind of pent-up state of fear or anxiety let go and let God. It can be an incredible relief!

Personal experience:

I have been fretting over a long-standing situation I can’t currently find a way to change. Either the timing isn’t right or the circumstances just won’t line up in a doable fashion, and this is keeping me from sleeping, raising my blood pressure, and possibly causing long-term damage to my emotional and physical health. I have tried several interim solutions with varying levels of success including conventional options and multiple flower essence choices that have made useful but short-lived improvements.

Finally I yearned for the ability to surrender to whatever is in my highest well-being. Sometimes you have to trust that if you can’t make something you think you want happen, that the barriers are set too high for a GOOD reason—to push you to go in another direction or to find another door than the one you’ve been banging on and attempting to beat down to no avail. Maybe there’s a better door. Maybe what you’re trying to do isn’t in alignment enough with your highest calling, heart’s delight or true well-being. Or maybe it’s just not time.

Angel’s Trumpet came to mind for this last night. I tried it and found it deeply grounding and deeply comforting. And the result was that despite having gotten emotionally devastated by yet another seemingly closed door, I was able to let go, move into a place of serene Trust, fall asleep with ease, and wake refreshed. The morning anxiety I’ve been waking up with related to repeated dreams was still there the next day, but I finally understood what the dreams were at least partially about (a related situation I don’t know enough to do anything about). So I tried Angel’s Trumpet again. And, again, it was deeply grounding and it felt wonderful to let go and reside in a place of serene Trust. But I wasn’t sleepy in the morning! I didn’t feel like I needed to go back to bed. I just felt relaxed, like it’s okay not to know, it’s okay to be led to a better solution.

That said, the experience didn’t end there. I liked this feeling so much I started to use an affirmation about just handing things over to God all the time. THAT did NOT go well using this flower essence. Just giving up and not trying anymore is NOT what the balanced expression of this flower essence is all about. We’re still human beings having a physical world experience AND spiritual beings in embodied form. Meaning, it’s not all up to us, but refusing to acknowledge our own innate power is also a form of imbalance. So, after having some truly upsetting panicky feelings, taking different flower essences for that, and shifting back and forth between Angel’s Trumpet and those other ones, I realized I was shifting back and forth between two polarized states! They were: anxiety about giving away all my power, and despair about not knowing how to control everything I feared!

I took a break from all flower essences for a bit and finally realized that I wasn’t supposed to give up on having any choice or power at all! AND it wasn’t my job to try to control everything and possibly get in the way of how the universe might arrange things, not only on MY behalf but for the highest benefit of all concerned. It’s okay to surrender to that—in fact, there really is no better choice when it comes to that. AND I can get help with feelings that come up and how I respond. So the end result was looking at both polarities as holding a piece of what’s best. Fearfully wanting to control the outcome of every decision without having enough information to confidently make those decisions, indicates a deep lack of trust and faith in divine providence, but it also indicates giving a damn about myself and the project of taking care of my needs along with the willingness to do what needs to be done. Conversely, wanting to hand over ALL control, power of decision, and desire to try things indicates a profound lack of confidence and self-preservation, even though it came from a desire to relax and trust. The balanced state is one of both/and.

So this flower essence isn’t just about handing things over to God or your Higher Power. It IS that, but unless you’re dying that just means that you’re being called to a new way of being. You can stop trying so hard or give up fighting a no-win battle entirely and learn to go with the flow. Or, as in my case, you can try things, take a step in whatever direction calls your name, and trust that help will be there no matter what happens. You can be guided, you can rest, God is on your side. AND you are still responsible for intending what you want to experience, what you want to do, and following through when THAT is what you’re being called to do.

What happened for me is that once I realized that what was best for me was a middle way between two polarized states, a new thought came in about it being okay to make changes I’ve been afraid to follow through on, baby step by baby step. And one change in particular requires an action I now believe I CAN follow through on when I was too anxious to do so before. I might not get it right, but I know I can get help and learn what steps to take rather than falling into the trap of trying to go it alone. Not only that, surrendering to the idea that I don’t have to do everything right is a way of letting go and knowing I can be okay anyway. That need for deep trust and rest can come from that! After all, we have examples of people who make horrific decisions and yet land on their feet in the news all the time! By being in the polarity of wanting to shun that entirely, I don’t receive the lesson that—like everyone—it’s sometimes necessary to crawl before I walk, to teeter and toddle before I run, and that help is all around. God/your angels/the universe can be your partner but a partnership takes two.

Life-Changing Surrender

Now if you look elsewhere on the internet you’ll find that hospices sometimes use Angel’s Trumpet to help people let go into death when they are fighting it with everything they’ve got but they really are at the end of the road. My mom was like that. She longed to be reunited with my father who had died years before but she was convinced there was more she needed to do. She didn’t want flower essences or Reiki—she said no to that hoodoo-voodoo! (her words) Finally, various family members came or called to tell her that she had done enough, that they would be alright, that she could rest and go to her beloved Charlie and brothers and sisters and parents on the other side. That it would be alright. And when one last promise was made about us taking care of ourselves, she finally let go and went with a beautiful smile on her face. She was the matriarch—the glue that held the family together in many ways. Her greatest transition required no longer feeling like she needed to do that.

I mention this because sometimes the surrender needed IS the ultimate one. And there is also often a deep need to surrender to life’s processes at other points in a life. But what that surrender means is different for everyone. It can be a role you played and played well like my mother did. It can be letting go of a situation you were attached to or a way of operating in the world. It can be about being able to let go completely but only if that is right for you!

A Few Notes About Buying Angel’s Trumpet from my Etsy Shop:

I am currently unable to offer Angel’s Trumpet on Etsy, but you can buy it from me there by special request

The flower essence form of Angel’s Trumpet is not toxic and not hallucinogenic. Unfortunately, the leaves, flowers, and seeds in their whole form can be toxic and are sometimes abused for hallucinogenic effects. These plants are NOT illegal and can be safely grown in the average person’s garden without problem. Unfortunately, Louisiana and at least one city in Florida has made it illegal to grow and process this plant for the purpose of human consumption—which makes it illegal to grow and make flower essences from it in those locations.

I do not live in Louisiana or Florida and, I repeat, flower essences are not toxic and have no hallucinogenic effects. Toxicity is very dependent on dosage—even water can be toxic in really excessive amounts! Stock strength flower essences are made to such a low dosage that practically no plant material can be detected! I then dilute those ingredients even further to make the ready-to-use products I sell in my shop. They are extremely safe and can be used by a wide variety of people, even young children. Unfortunately, Etsy regulates what is sold by using search engine bots, and bots just look for names and keywords and automatically remove products that include them. In my opinion, this is an error the bot is making because it has no ability to think and make anything but unilateral decisions, but Etsy doesn’t plan to change this choice, so it doesn’t matter. The bot keeps taking this product out of my shop, so you’ll need to order it by special request.

Flower essences are used to assist with mind-body-spirit interactions and individual results may vary. They are extremely dilute which makes them quite safe. But because so little physical substance can be detected in a flower essence solution, these products are presumed to work on an energetic or vibrational level—something that cannot be adequately tested by western scientific methods. Claims made by me, therefore, are based on personal experiences and the evidence of the combined multiple decades of case notes by Dr. Edward Bach as well as Healing Herbs and Flower Essence Services (the companies who make the ingredients I use in my products).
