Flower Essences for Inner Conflict

Comfort and Joy with Renewed Faith and Optimism Flower Essence Sprays

Do you ever feel like there are parts of yourself at war with each other? I’ll give you an example:

I have been working a long-term plan to save enough money to buy a house (or mobile home or condo) someplace we’d be more excited to live. Cooler summers, easier beach access, etc. And I have been very diligent at this for quite some time while we are also doing family caregiving. The long-range plan makes it easier to stay where we are and stick to the program given our responsibilities here . . . or so the “responsible adult” part of me thinks.

But there’s another part who acts like a child throwing a tantrum. “I don’t want to wait so long! I hate it! I want to go NOW!” she’s screaming. “I hate it, I hate it, you want to do this for how many more years? How will I ever last so long? WAHH!” Okay, then. We have quite the inner conflict going on.

I was thinking earlier today about what flower essences or flower essence formula I would choose for this. From my adult point of the view, the problem is lack of patience and a feeling of despair or at least deep discouragement that bubbles up when the long-range plan seems to be taking too long. So I chose Renewed Faith and Optimism as my first choice today. It contains Borage (for relieving discouragement), Impatiens (for patience and relieving irritation), Larch (for more confidence about the end result), and Zinnia (for lightening up about it all). It had an effect, and that effect felt okay . . . but not good enough.

So then I was drawn to Comfort and Joy. That one contains Larch, Zinnia and Rock Water. Two of the same flower essences but, combined with Renewed Faith and Optimism, it had a dramatically better effect. Rock Water is for letting go of rigid standards and not being so hard on oneself. Hmm. That might be what my tantrum-prone inner child is demanding. She doesn’t want to stick with the program excessively. She’d like me to lighten up and be open to a solution that’s a lot less harsh. And, from where I sit an hour after using these two formulas together, that seems like a good idea. Although I don’t yet know what that would mean, it did open up a conversation between me and Paul about the importance of staying open to better possibilities.

At the moment both sides of myself feel content so I thought I’d write this blog post to bring up the idea that whenever there is a conflict—an outer one or an inner one—the truth lies somewhere in between these polarized points of view. I’m not going to be totally irresponsible and leave all my responsibilities behind NOW. But neither do I feel as inclined to go lockstep on and on down the same long boring uninspiring path. By opening the door to a better solution, maybe the best choices could happen for all concerned!

Flower essences are used to assist with mind-body-spirit interactions and individual results may vary. They are extremely dilute which makes them quite safe. But because so little physical substance can be detected in a flower essence solution, these products are presumed to work on an energetic or vibrational level—something that cannot be adequately tested by western scientific methods. Claims made by me, therefore, are based on personal experiences and the evidence of the combined multiple decades of case notes by Dr. Edward Bach as well as Healing Herbs and Flower Essence Services (the companies who make the ingredients I use in my products).
